The rebirth of a château in the heart of Pommard. Founded in 1112, Château de la Commaraine has deep roots in Burgundy's history.
This architectural and wine-growing jewel has been transformed into a confidential luxury hotel by the Champagne Hospitality group, revealing a château that is emblematic of the region, surrounded by its 3.75-hectare Clos Monopole in the Pommard Premier Cru appellation, carefully cultivated according to biodynamic principles. A spectacular vat room, integrated into the hotel, offers a unique experience in direct contact with the viticulture. The hotel offers 37 rooms and suites, a spa, a swimming pool and two restaurants run by chef Christophe Raoux, Meilleur Ouvrier de France. Everything is designed to combine the work of the vines with the pleasure of travellers, with many rooms offering views of the surrounding vineyards and landscapes and one suite overlooking the winery.
The 37 rooms and suites are in keeping with the spirit of the times, in harmony not only with the village of Pommard but also with its historic prestige, with wood panelling and light blond tones, underlined by a few hints of rose gold and sky blue.
One of the restaurants features superb vaulted ceilings and a breathtaking space that resonates with the spirit of the place.
As for the swimming pool, overlooking the vines, it is a reminder that Château de Commaraine is determined to maintain its winegrowing vocation, this time combined with a new style of hotel, combining heritage and history in the very heart of a village with quiet little streets.
A destination for unique experiences linked to the region's terroir and particularly its wines: a visit to the estate's cellar, taking part in wine-growing activities with the team, tastings or a tour of the winery.
The privilege of staying at Château de la Commaraine.
