Fantastic Picnic à l'abbaye de Fontenay

The Fantastic Picnic is a day in the countryside at Fontenay, a tourist and cultural site that welcomes around 80,000 visitors from all over the world every year.
Fontenay Abbey, founded in 1118 in a valley near Montbard, is a perfect example of this spirit of returning to the monastic origins that gave pride of place to manual labour. Not only is its cloistered square almost intact, but it has also preserved its ancillary buildings, in particular the great forge.

A large market featuring local producers and craftsmen awaits you on this day, and for the occasion, the large meadow of the carpière, which lies between two rivers, will be open.
