Descripción

The European Heritage Days offer a unique opportunity to explore the history and landscapes of the Climats of the Burgundy vineyards – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – in a different way, by opening doors that are usually closed to the general public. This will be the case this year with the special opening of the Salle Vergnette de Lamotte in Beaune and participation in the ‘Pierre d’avenir’ event at the Comblanchien quarry. THE CLIMATS PROGRAMME SATURDAY 19 AND SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 2026 Special opening of the Salle Vergnette de Lamotte The Association des Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne invites you to delve into the history of winemaking. Step back to the 19th century! The former CCI ceremonial hall reveals its treasures dating from the 1889 Paris World’s Fair: a relief map of the vineyards and the décor designed at the time to showcase Burgundy wines in Paris. Admire the carved woodwork and coats of arms, and become an expert on today’s Climats and their inclusion on the World Heritage List! Venue: 6 rue Vergnette de Lamotte, 21200 Beaune 10.00–13.00 / 14.00–17.00 Quick tour / No booking required / Free ----- SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER 2026 Stone of the future: discover Comblanchien stone! Quarries are unique open-air educational sites where you can learn about the geology of the ground and subsoil. They also reveal traditional and more contemporary skills closely linked to the history of the Climats. To mark the opening of its new plant, SETP is opening its doors to the general public for a guided tour of the quarry (including machinery demonstrations and an introduction to stone extraction and processing techniques). Our association will be running a fun workshop there focusing on the ‘Côte des pierres’ and its connection to the heritage and vineyards of the Climats. Venue: Chemin des Essarts, 21700 Comblanchien 3 time slots: 10.00–12.00 / 12.00–14.00 / 14.00–16.00 Booking required / Free Enquiries: https://openagenda.com/fr/jep-2026-bourgogne-franche-comte/events/24474167_discovering-comblanchien-stone-guided-tour-of-the-quarry-and-its-factories ----- Don’t miss the programme of events at the Cité des Climats and Burgundy Wines in Beaune either.
