Come What May
Sans Attendre Collective
What do electronic music, Scooby-Doo and beekeeping have in common? ‘Copiaus’ – what does that mean? Why is a troupe of merry pranksters leaving the capital to follow a man they call ‘the Boss’? And what are they doing in a small village in Burgundy?
1925: a group of young actors arrive in Burgundy with their dreams and ambitions. They discover the region, its traditions, its wines, its songs and its people. A joyful form of theatre is born from this encounter. Both sophisticated and accessible, it draws on the classical repertoire as well as farce, but also on wine-growing culture and folklore. Their shows blend theatre, dance, mime, song and masks.
‘Vaille que vaille’, a cleverly off-the-wall cabaret, playfully reimagines the story of the Copiaus, a little-known yet legendary troupe that lived on the Côte de Beaune a hundred years ago. An irreverent tribute in the form of a dinner-show.
Directed by Robin Lhuillier and Mathilde Mourey; performed by Alexandra Bartz, Ulysse Genevrey, Valentine Jacquet and Aymé Larat; Robin Lhuillier, Agathe Mesnier, Mathilde Mourey, Maelle Ory; costumes and masks by Coline Bassenne; music and arrangements by Matthieu Lauzier and Poulrenarvipèr;
