Demonstration and introduction to the craft of dry-stone walling: Discover the secrets of dry-stone walling!
To mark European Heritage Days, Murs et Vignes – a company holding the ‘Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant’ (Living Heritage Company) label – is opening its doors to introduce you to an ancestral craft now recognised as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage: the art of dry-stone walling.
On Saturday 19 September, come and watch live technical demonstrations. You’ll discover how the craftsman selects, cuts and fits the stones to create solid, durable structures that blend seamlessly into our traditional and wine-growing landscapes.
Come and watch the craftsman at work, understand the importance of these low walls for biodiversity and our landscapes, and discuss this craft, which is both an art and a labour of love.
