Discover Burgundy wines from the Françoise Jeanniard winery in Pernand-Vergelesses, at the foot of the Butte de Corton near Beaune

Domaine Françoise Jeanniard in Pernand-Vergelesses

The Françoise Jeanniard estate is located in Burgundy in Pernand-Vergelesses, a charming wine village north of Beaune, below the famous Butte de Corton.
During our visit, we discovered this small estate (2.5 ha) whose vineyards are spread across the villages of Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton and which promises a memorable encounter with Françoise Jeanniard, who’s passionate about winemaking.

Françoise Jeanniard: passionate about winemaking

Practising sustainable growing, a believer in pruning and bottling in phase with the lunar calendar, Françoise Jeanniard is part of a winegrowing tradition that stretches back 5 generations. Yet nothing predestined this biochemist to take up the family estate. But finally, late in life, after an already full career, Françoise Jeanniard took up wine study, and so the adventure began. With no regrets, she says...
She will happily share with you her great knowledge of the wines and "climats" (wine-growing parcels of land) of Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton with a simplicity and a natural ability to make visitors feel very welcome. In short, what you’ll find is an authentic family estate.

Wines from the Françoise Jeanniard estate

In white, the estate offers Pernand-Vergelesses and a Bourgogne Aligoté which I wouldn’t hesitate recommending you try. You will be pleasantly surprised!
As for red, Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses, Pernand-Vergelesses Vieilles Vignes and Aloxe-Corton at affordable prices.

Tasting in the wine cellar

You can enjoy some of the estate’s wines in the magnificent tasting room (ideally call in advance to make sure someone is there to look after you). Depending on the weather and availability, a brief tour of the vineyards may be on offer.

Extend your visit to Pernand-Vergelesses

Afterwards, you can extend your visit to discover the village and take a lunch stop at Le Charlemagne, with its 1 Michelin star.
And then why not take a short nap to let your food go down on the lawn of the Oratory of Frétille which overlooks the village and offers a panoramic view of the vineyards. For the more adventurous, a 6 km hike will take you around the Butte de Corton.
