With the third edition of the Mai Musical de Meursault, we're delighted to invite you to a concert every weekend in May. Get out and enjoy springtime music in our beautiful village of Meursault and the surrounding villages, this year in Saint-Romain, Monthelie and Auxe-Duresses.
Come and meet the people who love music and keep it alive, musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds, as well as the volunteers from our association. (Re-)discover the Mutin-Cavaillé-Coll organ in the church of Saint-Nicolas de Meursault, recently restored, with its period instruments.
You can hear
* On Saturday 2 May at 8.00 pm, in Saint-Romain church, Alice Julien-Laferrière and her ensemble Artifices, in residence in the Maranges region, will evoke the heyday of the horse-drawn post, with soloist Jean-François Madeuf on the postillion horn and hunting horn.
* On Saturday 9 May at 8.00 pm, in Monthelie, in the church of Saint-Germain-d'Auxerre, the vocal ensemble "Six vois dans la nuit" will be offering different takes on the Song of Songs in the history of music.
* On Saturday 16 May at 8pm, in Meursault, at the church of Saint-Nicolas, Benjamin Alard, titular organist of Saint-Louis-en-l'Île, will be given carte blanche.
* On Sunday 24 May at 6.00 pm, in Auxey-Duresses, église Saint-Martin, the Consort Brouillamini, a flute quintet, will take you on a journey to England from the 15th to the 17th century.
* On Saturday 30 May at 8.00 pm, in Meursault, Saint-Nicolas church, an organ and trumpet trio will perform a programme of festive music.
Unusual, original and relaxed, the Mai Musical de Meursault celebrates the return of the fine weather and will give you a foretaste of the village's major musical event, the Festival de Bach à Bacchus, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. This year it takes place from 4 to 12 July.
