La Chambre Symphonique with 50 musicians on stage: a concert packed with thrills, a veritable musical feast.
ON THE PROGRAMME :
- Rossini, Overture to the opera The Thieving Magpie (La gazza ladra)
- Schubert, Unfinished Symphony (Symphony No. 8 in B minor - D. 759, known as the Unfinished Symphony),
- Ravel, Ma mère l'Oye
La Chambre Symphonique, a young orchestra from Burgundy and Lyon, presents a dazzling evening of symphonic music, focusing on three key works from the orchestral repertoire and emblematic of Romanticism: first the spirited Overture to The Thieving Magpie, then Schubert's melancholy Unfinished Symphony and finally Ravel's Ma mère l'Oye. Like a bouquet of styles, these young musicians offer us an evening flavoured with effervescent Italian opera, German romanticism and grandiose French refinement.
Created in 2018 under the impetus of its conductor, Loïc Emmelin, who is still at the helm, La Chambre Symphonique continues to offer emotionally rich programmes. Thinking of sound as sharing, this orchestra has a contagious good humour and brings together, depending on the work, 40 to 80 musicians, young artists with a passion for the orchestra. Renowned for its enthusiasm and search for original orchestral colours, its conductor, after studying with Philippe Cambreling at the conservatoire in Chalon-sur-Saône, went on to perfect his skills in Paris at the Frédéric Chopin conservatoire, in Adrian McDonnell's class. Since 2018, he has been a pupil and assistant conductor to Fabrice Pierre with the XX-21 workshop (a contemporary music ensemble at the CNSMD in Lyon), and several times assistant conductor to Benjamin Levy with the Orchestre National de Cannes, the Ensemble Pélléas and the Opéra National de Lyon.
