On 26 April, the stage of Beaune's Théâtre Municipal will be alive with the biting, timeless humour of Georges Courteline. In four delightful sketches - Monsieur Badin, Les Boulingrin, La paix chez soi and La peur des coups - you'll discover slices of life as realistic as they are deliciously satirical.
A keen and malicious observer of the human comedy, Courteline sketches the shortcomings of his time... and, with astonishing modernity, our own too! His texts, sometimes piquant, always funny, still resonate with delightful accuracy today.
✨ A lively, rhythmic show
Between each sketch, two singers from the association "Les Gueul'Arts" will punctuate the evening with songs related to the themes addressed, bringing a musical touch full of sensitivity and energy.
🎬 A passionate troupe
The "Contes en chemin" Company, made up of five experienced performers who love the great texts, brings you a colourful creation: burlesque, sometimes absurd, always whimsical and resolutely funny.
Having already explored Maupassant's Le Horla, Le Roman de Renart and Victor Hugo's Le Dernier Jour d'un condamné (The Last Day of a Condemned Man), they were seduced by Courteline's corrosive humour to create this 1.5-hour show, a blend of tradition and modernity.
